Mar Gregorios Orthodox Christian Student Movement

The Mar Gregorios Orthodox Christian Student Movement (MGOCSM) is the official youth ministry department of the Northeast American Diocese. The church-wide ministry provides a variety of worship, fellowship, education and service opportunities to help engage and empower our youth - high school and college students - in the sacred life of the Church.

Worship

We seek to have our young people rooted in a strong life in Christ, which stems from the divine worship of our Lord Jesus Christ. The life and character of an Orthodox Christian is in large measure shaped, nourished, and enriched by the liturgy or worship of the Church.

Study

Through the numerous ministries of our MGOCSM, we seek to deepen the faith of our young people. These ministries, such as our area lenten retreats, Hadootho, Winter Summit, to name a few, provide a unique opportunity for our youth to delve into our ancient faith. It also provides a space to ask questions about our faith in light of the changing times in our culture and society. We believe our growing ministries offer a unique advantage for our youth to come closer to Christ and His Church through these opportunities to learn.

Service

One pillar that the MGOCSM firmly believes in is giving back to the community through their time and service. Every year, unique opportunities are created for our youth to get out of their comfort zone and to serve their community, whether is be cleaning up a disheveled park or traveling to Kerala, India, to serve at an orphanage that is filled with over 100 precious children. The MGOCSM believes that these life-changing opportunities will help our youth grow in their faith.
